Works well enough. The Bluetooth function is crappy at best, but I got it to connect long enough to program my fingerprints.
It also requires 4 AAA batteries that were supposed to be in the package but weren't.
I like the auto lock function and this is a very sturdy knob so overall I am satisfied.

This lock looked pretty cool, so I decided to give it a try. It saves time and is more convenient than having to find a key or carry it with you...and let's face it, who carries keys on them when they're in their own house?

So the installation didn't look that difficult. But as I got into it, I realized there are some important details that would help to know ahead of time. First, don't try to use a screwdriver that's anything but thin. I typically use one that allows you to change the bits on the end of it, which means the rest of the screwdriver is slightly thicker. Unfortunately that only went so far because you have to put it through a hole in the end of the handle in order to get to the screw and screw it in from there. Sorry, it's really hard to explain unless you see it, but once you get there you'll know what I mean. The phillips bit would fit through that hole in the side of the handle and I could start screwing the screw in, but beyond about a half inch, I had to find a thinner screwdriver that would fit through the hole.

Then I ran into another problem with one of the screws, after getting the first one in. It just wouldn't go in, and shortly after I felt like I was going to strip the head. I later realized that was probably due to the angle and the gymnastics you had to go through to even get to the screw head. So I backed it out carefully, unscrewed the first screw, and started over. I did this about three different times before I was able to get the lock installed.

So after the frustration of installation, to the point where I almost gave up...beyond that the lock works perfectly. I kind of wondered how well the fingerprint identification would work, but so far it has worked pretty flawlessly. Only once or twice when I was fairly sloppy about it it didn't recognize my fingerprint. Every other time, it has, and fast! I also tried the key override, which is cleverly hidden behind the end of the handle. I don't think anybody would know it was there unless they had one of these locks or had seen the keyhole uncovered before. And I tried unlocking and locking with the app, which also worked flawlessly.

The app allows you to add a user (please note, you do need to register an account in order to do this) and you can register four fingers which is pretty common with these types of devices. It takes several finger presses to register one fingerprint, so you can rotate your finger a little either way to make sure you don't have to be super precise when you're using the lock, and it will still recognize your fingerprint. You can also add multiple users, and multiple fingers for them too. I haven't yet tried the USB override but I wasn't too worried about it since I could use the key as a backup if necessary, which doesn't require non-dead batteries.

Overall I would definitely suggest this lock, with a few recommendations that will hopefully help you get right to the enjoying it part without the bit of frustration I experienced:

1. Make sure you have a thin phillips head screwdriver on hand, and not one with interchangeable bits.
2. Ideally I would make sure you have someone to help you, so they can hold both sides of the door handles perfectly straight so you don't run into the issue that I did with the screw not going in easily.

Update after three months of use:

As soon as I have time I'm uninstalling this lock and going back to a traditional knob. The fingerprint works extremely intermittently (sometimes takes 10+ tries to get it to recognize and I'm not someone who generally has issues with their fingerprints being recognized by technology). It's gotten to the point where I don't even feel comfortable using it as I'm worried I'll get permanently locked out of my room (and I have smart locks on all my exterior doors, so I'm very comfortable with tech locks).

I also don't like how loud the beep is when using the fingerprint scanner (especially considering I'm usually hearing it 10+ times each time I try to unlock the door as it beeps one way if it fails to recognize the fingerprint and a different way if the print is accepted).

Lastly, it's very frustrating that there isn't a button to lock the door from the inside like a standard knob.

Honestly, I could live with the other frustrations if the lock just worked consistently...

Original review:

I have mixed feelings about this lock. I got it as a way of preventing my son to go into my home office as I was tired of having childproof covers on my door knob because they are impossible to open with wet or recently-lotioned hands.

Positives:

- The knob isn't much larger than a normal door knob so it's not obtrusive.
- Installation only took me about 20 minutes (I do have experience replacing door knobs and installing other smart locks).
- It's convenient that you can have it only lock when you want it to so you don't need to constantly be unlocking the door
- You can add multiple fingerprints per user

Negatives:

- Lock makes a very loud beep when locking or unlocking the door using the fingerprint. According to customer service this cannot be changed.
- There is no way to lock the door from the inside of the room without using the app or auto lock.
- Fingerprint recognition works about 75% of the time. I often need to multiple attempts to get it to work.
- It might be an issue with just my lock, but sometimes turning the knob counterclockwise doesn't engage the latch to allow the door to open (even if the door has been unlocked for days). I reached out to customer service about this, who were responsive over text about other questions, but I have yet to hear back from them about this and it's been multiple days. Thankfully it has always worked turning the knob clockwise (knock on wood), but it does make me nervous that one day I won't be able to open my door.

Note: you need a precision screwdriver with a long, thin, un-tapered shaft to be able to install as the screwdriver needs to go through a thin, narrow space to tighten some screws during installation (see second photo)
