If I could give it 0 stars I would. Complete waste of money. The rubber around the hole for the cord broke off in the first use. It would not stay tight around my hand while running and the touch screen did not work. I have to open it up and pull it down to use my phone. I wish I could return it, but the freakin thing broke.

First of all, I got this water bottle for running, with the idea that I could have just a little bit of water on really hot running days, basically to just wet the mouth a few times. I have absolutely no desire to "stay connected" for every moment of my day, so unless I lose my chronograph wristwatch (used to clock my runs) I will definitely NOT be carrying my phone around on the trails. The little pouch could be useful for my car key, but that's about it.

The majority of my runs are 4 mile loops on hilly single-track hiking trails, typically taking me 45 to 48 minutes to finish (unless I happen to be out of shape; sometimes life does get a bit too busy to consistently get out there, especially on shorter wintertime days). For runs of this duration, I realized today (on my first run with this water bottle) that the negatives of running with this in my hand probably outweigh the single benefit this provides, i.e. having access to a little bit of moisture on the trails.

The GOOD: having a little water for a dry mouth is useful on hotter days. The valve top is easily and safely (for your teeth) opened with your mouth. Mine did not leak at all when the valve was closed. The harness that secures the bottle in your hand was comfortable for me; the strap to tighten it down against your hand did not easily come loose as I was running (I only had to re-tighten once).

The NOT SO GOOD: 16 ounces of liquid = one pound, so even without carrying a phone you're essentially running with a 1 lb weight in one hand, and I did not particularly care for this biomechanically (if using it again, i will only fill it half way, since the bottle was still about half-full at the end of my run). Even at half full, there is still the problem of water sloshing-around as you run, which I found annoying. In addition, even though I thoroughly cleaned-out the bottle with soap & water prior to first use (this included allowing it to soak for 12 hours), the water on my run still tasted like plastic.

If you run long distances regularly and live in warmer climates, this item might work well for you. But for only 45-60 minutes of running I think I prefer just hydrating beforehand & having a big water bottle to replenish myself at the end, which is how I've done it for years. If I could find a stainless steel 8 oz baton-like tube with a valve-top, I might run using something like THAT fairly often. But this item will probably not see much action on anything except for REALLY hot running days. While this product doesn't work for me, it could be useful to others, so I'm only subtracting a single star for the plastic-tasting water.

I regularly walk with my neighbors, and for at least 8 months out of the year, it's vital to bring water along. I've been just holding a bottle while putting my phone in a small crossbody bag but didn't have anything that would hold both. I had high hopes that this little guy would check all the boxes and come along on my walks, but sadly, it's not to be. The phone holder is about 1.5" too short for my iphone 12 promax, so I'd really recommend that you measure your phone before ordering this. The bottle was also a bit wide for my hand, which made it uncomfortable to hold. I also think that, in hotter weather, it would be really unpleasant to hold onto the plastic with sweaty hands. It might work for you if you have a smaller phone and a larger hand, but for me, it's sadly a miss.
