At least he's immobilized!

This little crap face right here. Cute looking, right? Wrong! It's nail trim time and he's getting ready to turn into a tornado of basset fury that the biggest crocodile death roll couldn't compare to.

Our little fella cannot stand to get his nails trimmed. As soon as I go to the cabinet where I keep my grooming supplies the mood in the house changes. All the groomers in the area won't see us and the vet bills with sedation are just out of control. Had I known this grooming hammock was an option I would have gone with it long ago.

Now I won't say it completely "calms the fury," and I might still consider the muzzle next time (this was our first time using it.) However, just having a way to immobilize the muscular, spinning force of a 45lb basset, snapping and yelping before you've even laid clipper to nail, really toned down the mood of the whole experience which can be a big deal with dogs.

He's a smart little turd, so I'm sure he'll have it figured out soon, but if I can catch him and get him roped up in this contraption again in the future I will, without a doubt, continue to use it. One vet-sedation-free trim and it's already paid for itself! Haha.

10/10 recommend!

I was contemplating having to go to the vet to sedate my husky to get his nails trimmed because he becomes so aggressive when I try. This product has literally saved me so much stress. My husky nails got so long and I was so stressed because I knew it was close to causing him pain in his paws. He's been attacked by another dog and didn't even attempt to bite him, but I try to trim his nails and he tries to nip at me. It kept me up at night and finally I found this product. It got delivered today and I used it immediately. If your having the same issues with your dog give this a try because it has saved me and my husky so much stress.

I don't normally leave reviews but my husband and I had tried everything to clip our girls nails... we tried the reward system, we tried by sheer muscle and the muzzle (our girl is sweet but forget about it when she sees those trimmers or you even tap her paw), we tried the nail grinder instead of clippers, we tried sedatives, we even had a friend come to try and help hold her with us and it always turned into such a horrible experience for all parties involved. Save yourself some pain, time and money and buy a dog hammock! This particular one held our 80lb girl just fine. We ended up hanging her from my husband's pull up bar in our bathroom door way and it worked! She struggled a few times but eventually stopped and we where able to get all of her nails trimmed with in 5-10.min. extremely happy we purchased this!

We bought an XL for our Bullie.
I’m not sure we’ll ever get her in it again but it’s paid for itself in one use for sure.
She’s built like a refrigerator and just as strong. She will lift the full weight of a 200 lb human laying on top of her to avoid getting her nails trimmed.
With this thing she admitted defeat almost immediately when she realized she had nothing to push off of.
After about a minute of laughing so hard a cried.
I was able to pull her paws up and trim her nails just fine. The center of gravity really didn’t let her pull back much.
It’s more humane then having to drug her every time she needs her nails trimmed.
Worth it.
