I ordered this cane for myself because the weight claimed to be less than a pound. Upon receipt, the shaft seems super thin, but being carbon fiber, that's to be expected. Very solid, but a couple of product improvements would be greatly appreciated.
Positive feedback:
The pre-drilled holes are fairly close together, making this a lot easier to fine-tune than some of the standard store-bought canes. The light weight of the full cane is a joy to walk with all day. The handle can be swapped out for a different style and your fingers aren't forced apart when gripping the handle and reaching around the shaft.
Negative feedback:
The handle comes separate in the package, but it unscrews at the slightest hint of movement, definitely not good if your hands shake. I found myself having to stop every few paces or so to re-screw the handle in. I didn't buy the cane to have to work on it before it would be really usable.
The rubber tip provided does not grip surfaces well, especially on slick tile. Most canes have a soft rubber tip that stops you like treads on a good shoe. This tip is crenellated, so grips well in mud or grass. But for walking on solid surfaces (road, cement, etc), you would be better to find a different cane.
Overall feedback:
While the potential is there for a really good value, I would personally pass this up for something a little more substantial in the build. I appreciate the overall slimness and less than a pound weight, but if I have to swap out the tip and fix the handle from something I've had only two days, then the value isn't really there and would really think about it before I purchased this again.
