A good man, and thorough

I think I like it just as much as my Logitech M575!

I already have a Logitech M575, but I wanted to pick up an additional mouse I could leave on my desk at work. So I picked this one because it's like half the price I paid for my Logitech.

I've seen some reviews that say this item feels light compared to the M575. Personally, I can't tell the difference, but I weighed both and this item is 148 grams and the M575 is 155 grams. So yeah, the M575 is heavier, but only by 7 grams.

One thing that's super nice on this unit is the adjustable DPI. The button toggles between 5 DPI settings. This is a feature the Logitech doesn't have, and it's really nice if you need to scroll across several monitors.

Another thing I really like is the forward and back buttons are easier to reach and feel than on the Logitech.

This unit can also pair with two bluetooth devices, and another device with the 2.4GHz USB receiver.

The only thing I don't like is my computer won't suspend if I'm using the 2.4GHz receiver, which I can workaround by connecting by bluetooth. Not sure what's happening here, I don't have this problem when I use my Logitech with its 2.4GHz USB receiver.

A fabulous reincarnation of the Logitech Trackman Wheel

I have spent the last five years looking for a replacement for my old Logitech Trackman Wheel mouse (the silver grey unit in the photos). While I purchased a Logitech M575, which is considered a successor to the Trackman Wheel, I never felt it was either as good or as reliable as the original wired Trackman. The connectivity was always subject to interruption and the thing just "felt" different. I tried a variety of other trackballs, both wired and wireless, and all of them had some deficiency. Mostly, the manufacturers, in an effort to differentiate their product from the others, diddled with the ergonomics in significant ways--changing the height, angle or orientation of the trackball, altering the width or height of the entire unit, etc.

This trackball from NULEA (the darker unit in the photos) is the closest I have come to the old Trackman Wheel and I am delighted! The feel is the same and the NULEA has significant improvements from both the wired Trackman Wheel and the M575 replacement, in particular, adjustable cursor speed, multiple connectivity methods (two bluetooth channels and wireless USB via an included USB dongle), and backward and forward keys to the left of the left side button.

Note that the NULEA unit differs from most wireless mice in that it has a rechargeable battery that must be recharged via a USB-C connector. A full charge takes two hours. I have not yet operated this device long enough to require a recharge but I suspect several weeks of daily use will be about average. My approach will be to plug it in at night once every two weeks and not worry about it.

Also note that the unit has a black rectangular button immediately above the track wheel. This adjusts the cursor speed and there are 5 levels---100-200-400-800-1200. 100 is a crawl and 1200 is lightning fast. This is a wonderful improvement since, between selecting a cursor speed on the mouse itself and adjusting acceleration in the operating system settings, one can get exactly the cursor speed they are comfortable with.

A final note of caution. The manual says that the NULEA unit is not suitable for gaming. I am not a gamer so cannot address this but take the manufacturer at their word.

I really recommend this device. It's great!

I was so happy to find this...something that resembled my favorite Logitech trackball at a reasonable price. Out of the box it worked great and the build seems more sturdy than the Logitech. It's slightly smaller, but I liked that. After a couple of weeks, I got the dreaded slowdown that others have mentioned and I tried all the suggested "fixes". But then I realized it has a DPI switch that I must have tapped inadvertently to a slower setting. A couple taps and speed is back. It'd be nice if that DPI switch was placed elsewhere. Otherwise, a great, reasonably priced Logitech alternative.

I was about to order a Logi M575 but decided, based on excellent reviews, to order the Nulea M501 instead. I am very glad I did! The Nulea looks very similar to the M575. However, it feels more solidly built.

It works much more smoothly than my old Logitech. It was very easy to setup using BTooth instead of the dongle for my Mac Mini M1. The BT connected within a few seconds. The directions that come with it are rather vague overall and could use a better writer, but it was pretty easy to figure out without them.

Some people comment that they can't adjust the cursor tracking speed high enough. It's because the M501 has its own control for low and high speed tracking. The button is right below the scroll wheel and above the blue charging light. Tap it twice and it goes into fast or slow. Tap it twice again and it goes into the other speed. In the fast speed mode you can then fine tune the adjustment at your computer Mouse setup. On my Mac I adjust the slider to the midpoint and it's plenty fast without overshooting the intended point of clicking.

I trust the M501 will continue to work smoothly as it seems to be solidly built. I like the fact that it's using a chargeable internal battery and uses a common USB-C connector with a USB-A to USB-C cord provided. But any cord you have available will do the job. Nothing special about it. The instructions do say not to use a fast charger but rather just use a connector on your computer or external hub.

I recommend the M501 to anyone looking to try an alternative to the Logitech M575.

Good mouse

This mouse is a tad lager than I would have liked. I have large hands and wear XL gloves and this mouse is close to me not being able to use. It took me awhile to find the settings to adjust the scroll speed, etc. The Bluetooth connected immediately and without issue so I didn’t have to use the transmitter. Additionally, I’ve read through the very limited instructions to find how to charge the batteries but could not find anything. It came with a USB cable so I assuming it charges while being connected.
