This unit is MUCH smaller than the photos make it look. On top is a blue LED that rotates along with the LASER, and based on how it strobes, it lets you know that the unit is ready to report data.
Data direction is write-only - there are no settings to configure, it just works. It's quiet, and with no belt drive to mess up, it seems like it will run reliably for a long time to come. While the documentation isn't as good as say, an RPLIDAR unit, its excellent construction and easy usability make it a cinch to write your LIDAR-dependent applications. Recommended!
