Feature
The GREEN.L Infrared Filter is a specialized filter used for infrared photography with digital cameras and specialized infrared film.Excellent for outdoor and indoor filming, the filter is essential for capturing the highest pictures in overcast outdoor lighting. With the filter in place 99% of the light seen by the naked eye is blocked out and only infrared light is filtered through. Technically the naked eye cannot see 100% black but with the infrared filter and your camcorder specialist functions, you will magically be able to.Due to the nature of infrared photography, the filter factor for this filter is highly variable and depends largely on the ISO sensitivity in use and lighting conditions.

Note:
1.Please set a custom white balance of your camera.
2.Please set the camera to manual mode, try a few more times, get the best exposure time.The exposure time is relatively long when using IR filters.
720nm for indoor and weak light use.
760nm for cloudy outdoor at nightfall and brightness indoor.
850nm for indoor and weak cloudy outdoor light.
950nm for outdoor and strong light,such as summer time.

I bought two sizes of this filter to shoot IR with a GFX50r. I was going to get a Hoya R72, but the price for this filter was too low to ignore, snd, honestly, some of the previous 1 star reviews seemed to be user error rather than a bad product. Unfortunately, these filters are not “real” IR filters. My first clue was the short exposure times (well under a second at f/8) and the second was the lack of any white foliage. I’ve been around the Ir block before; I know how to set a custom white balance and swap channels. No amount of processing would produce an image with even a hint of the IR look. Filters returned to my local Whole Foods the day after I received them and the refund was processed by Amazon within a few hours. So yeah, 1 star for the filters, 5 stars for Amazon’s return process. Hoyas have been ordered. I’ll come back and post an update to this review if they produce the same results.

Not an IR Filter

This is not an IR pass through filter as advertised. It is your run of the mill red tint filter. I have several other similar filters to this and this cannot produce the results that you would typically expect from a 720nm filter. One of the biggest give aways is the really short exposure times. I can shoot with this handheld which is typically impossible for IR filters.

I would pass up on this if you're looking for that 'false infrared color' effect.

This works well for short exposure on full spectrum sensors. Can't vouch for long exposures on standard sensors. Test photos worked great but i don't have one of the really expensive but similar 720nm filters to compare against. This appears to be a very good value. The gradient in the sky of my enclosed photo is both light leak and heat from my hand. The camera back was still off and my hand was pressed against the metal innards of the camera as a shield!

For the life of me I couldn’t get my images to turn out, but turns out there’s a huge process behind infared photography, and ESPECIALLY if you are just going the route with a filter. This IS an infared lens, I checked it with an infared remote light test, but know there’s a lot you have to do I order for this to work; customize the white balance in your camera, adjust aperture/iso manually, create a .dng color profile for your camera in your editing software, convert color channels.... and then once you’ve done that you may have an image that is what your infared dreams are may of.

Cheap painted glass.

It's not a real IR filter. It seems to just be some dark red glass... I can see charley though the viewfinder, which should not happen, and exposre times are under a second for a non-converted camera. Also foliage looks dark when it should be stark white. No amount of post-processing makes the pictures turn out as expected for IR photography. This is disappointing to say the least. I'm not sure where any of these positive reviews are coming from.
