A generic inexpensive pen with a piston filler and , a Lammy style nib that is very smooth and wet, a good pen that is inexpensive.

I bought these because I love fountain pens and was looking for something different to write with. Fountain pens dry out easily so if the cap is off too long it has to get started with a kleenex to draw the ink. I found the extra fine nib a little challenging for the first day or so but now it writes like a dream as long as it doesn't dry up. I get compliments all the time. My only true complaint is that the color on the cap gets scratches easily so the finish of the pen is not good. Never mind, though, I will probably paint it myself and then cover it with a clear coat. The ink shows in a clear barrel which is the BEST feature of this pen. you always know how much ink you have left.

These are fantastic refillable pens and they work really well. They refill and it is easy to turn the nob for more paint.
But they are not like using a ball point pen. They are slightly larger than a bic style pen and you can’t grip the pen too close to the tip or ink will get on your finger tips. Also, if it does not write, don’t scribble to get the ink flowing. You have to turn the crank slightly. If you turn it too far, the pen may drip. Hang in there, you will love them!

If I could give this 2.5/5, I would. Out of the 4 pens in this set, only two were without problems leaking. I filled a pink one with ink as a gift for a friend and I'm glad I held onto it for a couple of extra days because all the ink came out into the pen tip, wasted :(

I also took a few of them to work and the cap's metallic coloring immediately rubbed off and faded, getting sticky. You get what you pay for, and I was honestly disappointed. Also, I have a few extra fine fountain pens, which, aren't that fine to start, and comparing this one to the not that fine extra fine? It's definitely on the thicker side.

I use DeAtramentis ink and I have never had problems with leaking with other pens and this ink.
