GREAT light... !

I LOVE(d) this light belt! I love to walk before dawn, and this light is excellent for that purpose. Being at the waist instead of on the forehead, my night vision was not impaired. Very comfortable, too. AND... as if that's not enough - it holds a charge for a LONG tme!

The only problem I've had came from not quite getting the micro usb completely plugged in during charging.

The only change I'd make to this product would be to add an indicator to warn the user that the battery is low.

Almost Perfect, But Not Quite

I used the UltrAspire 800 Lumen waist lamp during my 100K race and it worked like a charm… at first. I used it at the highest/brightest setting and I felt like I was wearing a mini flood light around my waist. I loved it! Especially since I was doing the majority of my night time running all alone. But then… the battery died. I literally stopped right there on the spot, in the middle of the desert, in the pitch black darkness of the night, and I shouted a word that I will not repeat here. (I’ll give you a hint. It rhymes with duck.) Fortunately, I had a Petzl 200 Lumen headlamp, but that little thing was really dim compared to the 800 Lumen UltrAspire waist lamp that I had just been using. My little headlamp got me through the rest of the race, but I found myself running much more slowly and walking through long stretches of unfamiliar sections of the trail. The lighting conditions caused me to squint my eyes as I slowly navigated the rest of the race. I really believe that if the batteries for my waist lamp had lasted longer, then I would have finished my race much sooner. But because the batteries gave out, I was nervous about tripping on one of the rocks sticking out from the ground of the technical trail. Bottom line: if you decide to buy this waist belt, you should really consider buying an extra pair of batteries. Really. It will give you some peace of mind and you won’t have to waste any precious energy on being nervous, or being stressed, or being angry. Or in my case, all of the above. If I could go back in time, I would have bought an extra set of batteries.

First the negative: It's annoying that you have to tighten it so hard in order to get it to function, but at least it's been easy to open despite this. When my hands are freezing and I can't grip, this may become an issue.
Price is in line with similar dive lights that take the same battery, but honestly, it could be a clip on attachment and save the money of the belt and useless extra pocket.
That said, positives include a very comfy belt. I forget it's on because it doesn't bounce, but doesn't squeeze your guts out either. It's definitely bright enough for starless night runs, even at the lowest setting. Very easy to learn and use: simply press the big red button on one end and toggle through to get the beam and intensity you want. I like ease.
Best thing I can say, after hours of using my headlight, my forehead needs a break. This light provides it. I'm happy with this purchase.

Expensive light, but does the job well

Pros:
* long lasting battery, and it's a rechargeable REPLACEABLE battery. Replaceable is a big deal for my use (through the night on 100 milers)
* in my opinion, you don't need more than 400 lumens for light running on the trails, and I only turn it all the way up to 400 for brief moments. I generally run it at 50% and get a long burn time.
* nice adjustable beam pattern, few shadows. Long through, narrow focus to short throw, broad focus
* comfortable, adjustable
* good quality materials, even if the climb design (see below) is suspect.

No to pros:
* little expensive for what it is
* the clip holders which hold the light to the belt, while they have held up for me so far, seem prone to breaking and once that happens, you're hosed. I would have preferred a clasp enclosure of some sort.
* if I'm running at any kind of reasonable pace, there is quite a bit of bounce, unless I tighten down the belt to an uncomfortable level. For real slow pace, I can loosen it up a bit and the bounce still stays acceptable (I'm also less sensitive to bounce at those slower speeds). Note: I do 100% of my running on mountain trails, where the uneven terrain likely cause more bounce that on the roads.

I'm also the owner of UltrAspire's Lumen 600, which is an amazing waist light. But the 600 is a little heavier than the 200. The 200's light beam does have a nice spread and at its highest setting is plenty bright. On its brightest setting, I've found that the light will provide great contrast of the ground in front of you even when there are bright car headlights in your face. I use it on the lowest white light setting or even the red light setting to preserve my night vision and I've gotten well beyond 20 hours of battery life on a single charge. The 200 is lightweight and would be great to take when you're on travel and intend to run in the really early mornings or late at night.

The downside though is that if don't have a totally flat stomach -- like I'm assuming a lot of us do -- this light will basically be pointed just in front of your feet. You won't able to adjust it so that it aims further down your path.

One solution I came up with is just wearing it upside down and it works okay. But just keep in mind that because of the way the light's housing is designed, if you adjust the light upward to shine further in front of you, you'll get some light spill in your eyes and it can be distracting. And, of course, the power button will be on the bottom, which you'll have to get used to.

Even though the 600 is heavier and more expensive, I'd still recommend saving up money and getting that one over the 200 because it's just better designed.
