The ColorChecker provides an excellent color renditioning so that the color in your images will be more true to life to a calibrated monitor. The software is easy to use and integrates the profiles you create flawlessly for each session. The unit is more portable than DataColor's SpyderCheckr, and appears easier to use with Lightroom than with Capture 1 Software, but they each have their own strong points and weaknesses.
The flaw and complaints with the ColorChecker Passport is the rickety hinges on the plastic case. Even knowing this, the case is difficult to open and even more difficult to close. I feel that I will break the hinges when closing the case, it's that bad. The first time I tested this unit, when trying to pry apart the layers of the case, my finger slipped and my fingernail scraped across the 18% Gray panel leaving a permanent shiny mark. For the price of this unit, Calibrite should provide a more solid plastic case. For this reason, I am not able to leave 5 Stars, but only 3 Stars.
