Look up how to replace or install a key cylinder into a mortise lock. It is pretty simple and you don't need to pull off anything other than the trim panel on the door edge (typically). After that, getting to the key cylinder and removing the old and adding this in is a pretty simple task.
I got 3 keys with this item and they are solid as is the lock. They work VERY smoothly and are a vast improvement over my old keys and lock.
Make sure your old cylinder is the same size as shown for this item in the dimension picture. Check the depth and width carefully.
New key cylinder lock looks clean in the old door hardware.
