Straight forward review -
My keyboard (Apex Pro), mousepad (Qck XXL), and mouse (Aerox 3) are all SteelSeries branded. I bought the HyperX equivalent keycaps (for $19.99 July 2021) a week before the SteelSeries ones (for $29.99) came out so I went ahead and bought them to keep everything the same since the HyperX set had a HyperX branded space bar. As I unboxed the SteelSeries set, I noticed that they were exactly the same minus the slightly larger font on the SteelSeries set. Honestly, I kind of knew that off the bat that they would be similar. After replacing the keycaps, really the only difference between the two brands is the different font size and that the SteelSeries set was slightly grippier but that may just be because one is newer than the other. I can't see how they charge $10 more for the same keycaps that are already on the market. You do get an extra set of differently sized space bars but that does not justify $10 more. When typing, both sounds the same and feel the same. With RGB on, both look the same... I can't supply a picture for comparison because the lighting would look exactly the same since the camera on my phone would equalize the exposure and color.
I'm keeping the SteelSeries keycaps just because they're SteelSeries and it matches with the rest of my devices but if I were to recommend pudding/clear keycaps to a friend, I would say the HyperX keycaps are a better deal all the way!
