Update: All the tools have now pulled out of the handles. The tang that goes into the handles is only about 1 inch long. Downgrading to 1 star.
Being new at turning I struggle to sharpen my grandfathers old tools so I thought I would try carbide. These looked very good on arrival. Felt like good quality and solidly built. The carbide is sharp and they cut nicely however the flat part started to twist in the handles of every tool I used. The flat shank does not extend into the handles allowing the tool to move inside the handles. The soft foam handles are more like hard rubber but not uncomfortable. They were cheap and I was able to finish my bowl but I will need to figure out a way to pin the handles somehow. I would not buy them again.
