It came without its own charger, I wanted to return it because of that, I had remind myself the reason I am buying a new one because my guinea pigs eat my old charger cable. Fitting any USB adapter is a plus. Still had doubts of using a USB charger from pass experience of using a USB charger 24/7 to the point it caused the USB charger to malfunction. I won't be using it 24/7, so it turn out ok.

USB device are more energy efficient , not sure of the USB charger durability, my guess is to find the USB charger with biggest amp output for durability.

Perhaps I expected that anything that has to produce 48V for a microphone, would at least have some minor amount of amplification. In the end, it did nothing for me. I could just as easily plugged the microphone directly into the input jack of my sound card (with an adapter) and it would have had the same effect. It is made of sturdy material. But, otherwise useless.. Device "claims" can be plugged into the computer via USB port... uh.. yes, but for powering the device only; does not provide amplification, or ability to provide any kind of audio to a computer for recording, period. Any notes "suggesting" otherwise are misleading. This device does not provide anything that will allow the user to obtain audio from a USB slot. It didn't appear to do anything to improve my microphone, at all... and adding an adapter from the device to the computer did nothing "for a ceramic microphone". As said above, the input level was the same with/without this device. Yes, my microphone "says" it needs 48v phantom power; but, if so; this did not change that input level at all. It was as if the 48v did nothing to the microphone. TRUE (phantom) power, as in "did it even exist"? I did not measure the power out on the pins.

I do about 5 live shows every month. For DJs, these are the best combination of quality and price. Taking advantage of the rest day, I purchased the phantom power needed for the 48V condenser microphone. After I got it, I couldn't wait to try the effect. Very satisfied. This is what I want. These are the perfect combination. Reliable and affordable. I am glad I found them. I have used them for several months and they still work normally. It only provides 5V from the USB, but it can indeed boost the voltage correctly and provide 48V to the microphone. So far there is no noise and it works well.
