Okay this faithful watch, which has been with me through flights (has that useful T2 feature so you can set your home timezone while you're traveling!), hot *soapy* showers, warmed chlorinated pools, and -20 windchill blizzards, and whose wristband discoloration I tolerated because I loved its ergonomics, died on me about a while back nearly 8 months after I bought it.

If your watch dies early, your watch is fine. The battery is just dead. Why? Because you insist on lighting up the backlight on your watch all the time :p

This watch takes the skinny CR1616 batteries, which are 3-4 dollars online. You don't have to replace the whole watch. Use an eyeglass repair kit to take out the first set of screws (use a surface where you can keep track of screws easily, THESE ARE TINY), then you will find instructions inside on how to take out the second set of screws.

And yes!! It still worked in the pool =) The internal silicone gasket keeps it waterproof (don't lose it!), and the external clamps cover the external screws. Fixing your watch battery isn't rocket science.

Unfortunately I had to tutor that day and I didn't have time to order a watch battery online so I bought a CR1616 battery from a jewelry store for $11 instead (RIP) but now I know!

This review is for the Armitron Sports Women's 45/7034PBH, Rose Gold Tone. Got this for my wife. We are well into our seventies. All our lives we wore analog watches. Several years ago, we both started having trouble reading the time on the analog face. I was the first to switch to digital. I bought a Timex Ironman Shock. It's like wearing a kitchen appliance on your wrist, but it suits me fine. I can even track my golf strokes on it. My wife is a small woman. She wanted something more "dainty". I read some very favorable reviews about this watch, on Amazon. I noted many comments about the small/delicate/dainty size of the watch. My wife chose the rose/pink color, over the other color choices. It is perfect for her fair skin tone. When the watch arrived, my wife tried it on and was immediately delighted with the feel, size, and look of it. The face is large enough to display characters very clearly. The silicone/resin band fits well and feels very comfortable on her wrist. Setting the date, time, and other particulars was a challenge for me. I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer. But I got it done. My wife is very happy with her new watch. What makes her happy makes me happy.

LOOOOOOOOOVE THIS WATCH. FINALLY, a women's watch that isn't the equivalent of wearing an Instant Pot on your arm. This one is so petite, but it doesn't look like a kid's watch. Why has this been such a difficult feat for manufacturers?

The best watch I've ever owned was a digital Armitron I think in the '80s. It was small, very low profile (even lower than this one), and had all the digital functions. When it finally died, they had long since stopped making it. I went with Timex after that, and haven't been happy with most of their stuff. BIG is NOT okay! Their smaller watches were expensive and fragile (bands ripped apart easily), and the last one perpetually slipped around my arm so that I could no longer see it. Took two hands to see the time.

My little Armitron here came without instructions, which I knew going in. (I bought an open box to save a few bucks). There are YouTube videos that explain everything you need to know and which may be helpful for visual people like myself. It's not hard to figure out, but it is just different enough from Timex to throw you off a little here and there.

HOURLY CHIME: I love the optional hourly chime. Helps me keep track of my day better. (Hit MODE button once to get to the alarm, then hit the upper right button until you see a little bell).

STOPWATCH: I use the stopwatch every day when I run, and LOVE that it doesn't have laps! (Update: I think it actually does have laps). You can pause the stopwatch using the top right button, OR pause it (to check your time) while keeping it running in the background using the top left button. Hit the top left button again to get back to the active stopwatch.

TIME ZONE/24HR: Love the second time zone and optional 24-hour clock for us nurses out there (hit the top left button to switch back and forth). Love everything about this watch. Even though it's small, it doesn't look like a kid's watch. It's too classy for that. Oh, and love all the wonderful colors it comes in. I got "pink/rose gold," but I definitely wouldn't call the band pink. It's more like a very faint peach, and the rose gold is beautiful. That's for more dressy occasions. Also got navy for everyday wear, and purple for fun. I'll keep ordering new colors as they release them.

Thank you, Armitron! Don't ever stop selling this watch, and don't change it in any way! It's PERFECT.

UPDATE 2-22-22: Still wear these watches 24/7. I inherited 18 very nice watches from my mother, and have only worn one of them once. This one is just that good.

I change a lot of watch batteries (by no means an expert tho), and this one is more of a challenge than most. There are four tiny screws to open the back--which is great, much easier than popping the back off--and two even tinier screws to remove a metal frame over the battery. Once replaced, you have to short circuit the connection to get it going. It takes CR1616 batteries, which are inexpensive. I wear my purple watch a ton, and constantly change modes and use the light, so the battery lasted me a little less than 2 years. The two I purchased in fall of 2019 are still going strong. (It is now Feb 2022). I'm about to add a black one to my collection.

Love it, small and dainty, fits my tiny wrist, cute girls watch. I like that it shows the date and what day it is, I didnt like that it didnt come with a screen protector on top or bottom like most watches do, I usually leave it on until it falls off. Got some scratches on it from work after a day of having it ! :( but good watch other than that. Tried to take pics from all angles so you can see the actual size, good watch for the price.

Hard to set up, no instructions.

I had a HORRIBLE time trying to set this up. It did not come with an instruction manual and I couldn't seem to find one on google either. To figure out how to get it out of military time I had to read through other questions on related amazon watches. To help you all out, you need to get a little A or P to show up on the left hand side of the time (for am or pm) and that means you are out of military and into standard time. I don't remember how I made those appear and I'm scared to mess with it and not get it back so just play with it I guess. Now that it's set it should be a fine watch.
