If you're not comfortable doing this kind of thing, this is probably not a good display/board combo for you. Note that the SD card reader on the display won't work. There is a way to get it to work using the GPIO pins, I just didn't take the time to figure it out.

The colors are nice and the controls seem to function well, no complaints there. Marlin evidently sets the contrast all of the way up when configured for this display, so I didn't have any issues with that. My only gripe was that there was no indication in the product description that the display might need to be modified to work with some mainboards. That being said, if you are building or modifying your own printer, some fiddling should be expected, so I'm not really upset about it.

you probably want something that lets you talk to your printer, print, and tell you what your printer is doing, well, this is it. Want your printer to look like a Maserati? this is it, complete with customizable (and in marlin, programmable) RGB lighting, and so on. the wires in this package are nice, there's an extra SD card slot for the display, and if you set up marlin right, you can have custom display sprites and boot screens. ignore the others- this is the peak, even in 2021.
NOTE: if yours arrives dim, bump up the contrast above 248. this is not a problem with the display, but with the firmware on your mainboard- the display probably won't need an update in any reasonable span of time. PS, TMC errors are also not the screen, it's your steppers not getting enough power from a supply. which a PC only connection cannot satisfy, even if none are connected.
