We wanted to like this and actually tried 2 different versions but c ok old get it to work. We had a high traffic area where we wanted to put a camera so it could capture who.is coming and going. Even though it had direct sunshine for almost the entire day it was always running out of batteries/power. Even if we started it fully charged it o ly lasted a day.
I couldn't wait to install my solar panel but needed a fairly warm day. It took about an hour from hiding the cable to the Arlo and mounting the device. A few cloudy days seemed to charge but clear conditions works the best. Now, after approximately one week it's fully charged! Update. Still charging my Essential after two weeks. Granted, traffic volume not high but still a good feeling knowing it's working. Absolutely no regrets!!
I bought this and thought it was defective since it did not charge at all so I got a second one and it did the same thing. This did not give me any charge whatsoever!! I ended up buying the Arlo solar panel and sat it in the exact same spot and my camera has been at 100% for 3 days straight!
