There are several things about this product that seemed to be attractive; mainly I was concerned with protection for my new iPhone 12. Doing research, this case received fairly good results and I kept coming back to this thing as built for "impact." I do need to preface this with my previous outfit was an iPhone 7 with a puregear case. This speck case is not for those who need "grip" as this is as plastic feeling as they come. It will slide out of your hands very easily. There is a very slippery feel in one's hand, which does not create a sense of confidence for me personally.
After two days of ownership, I did manage to drop my phone from 1.5 ft (so not really all that high, right...). I call this a drop when in reality it was a slip from the hands as I describe above. The bottom corner of the case is now cracked as a result of a minor drop from a minimal distance.
I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for, 1. Sincere protection. 2. A grippy case if you will. Very slick feeling in the hand.
I will say there is no damage to the phone. I have encountered similar drops with my previous kit and had absolutely no issues. It appears I will be going back to puregear. Caveat emptor!
