AKG is housed under the Harman Kardon brand, which is itself housed under Samsung now. AKG and Harman Kardon have always made great products. I own several HK products, from headphones to speakers and they're all wonderful. I wanted new BT headphones with ANC, USB-C charging, and balanced audio. These fit the bill. Rtings.com has a great review of these, but not the M2 update which adds USB-C and minor tweaks. The good: * Balanced sound, a tad warm * Good but not perfect ANC. They cancel the hum of my workplace and some vocal noise, but not all of it. They're the best ANC I've ever used but I'm not a Bose user, nor have I used the newest Sony cans getting so much attention. * Super comfortable even with glasses on (for someone with an average to large sized head) * Decent app (Pixel 4)
The meh: * BT 4.2 (wish they were 5 but it's not a major issue) * ANC is always on. It doesnt bother me like some ANC headphones do, though * as other say TalkThrough works well, but overly amplifies surrounding low-frequency noise and sounds like being underwater. That said, its very easy to have a conversation with them on.
I'd buy them again, and at under $200 they're a steal on sale or used. I got mine open box for just over $100.
These have great, neutral sound. They don't add anything "extra", and that is, in my book, a goid thing. They do not have a 'tinny' treble, they do not have a 'booming' bass rendition. This sort of neutrality lets you hear the music and voice as it was recorded., without random changes. Some super-good headphones create a sort of 'aural stage' where you'd swear there was a 3 dimensional quality to the recording. This can be so real it's disconcerting at times. These BT headphones do not add this quality. But maybe the faithful rendition is better....
The noise canceling is good. It does not kill all external noise, but when you press the switch on there is a cliff outside sound goes over. Midtone and high tones are cut the most. In cool weather I might wear them just for the sound isolation. I don't think they'd be sufficient to protect your hearing at the range, though.

AKG is well known for its headphones and audio quality. I purchased those because my Microsoft surface 2 headphones are touch and pain in the neck sometimes. I prefer buttons but that doesn’t mean to have a downgrade when it comes to NC. NC is always on with a 1 level or with a click on a button you can hear the surroundings only and would mute the music completely. My Surface 2 allows me to hear both and choose the level of NC or ambient sound. I need them for editing so it cuts a lot on my iMac which was my main issue. AKG.com customer service said contact Apple.com although I have 2 other wireless Bluetooth headphones that work fine on the computer with no issues. I love the materials used but not the option and sound quality. Very disappointed for one of the best headphones brands in market. Not surprised because their $1,499 headphones has connectivity problems that I just found in reviews.
Other than the very tiny power and volume buttons, these are terrific headphones. This non-techie had them hooked up in ten minutes. Great sound, perfect for TV watching.
This added one month afterwards - the volume has stopped working. I charged it for 28 hours and the volume still does not work. I called the toll free number to get support, but the service person was unintelligible over the phone due to the thick accent. I can't decide if I'll be buying a replacement.

Headphones are nice and affordable, the ANC is just good but could be better, the sound quality is the main selling point and pairing with samsung devices makes it sound better thanks to the Scramble Bluetooth codec that is only available for samsung headphones, the build is nice and feels comfortable to wear. Overall great pair of headphones and great for samsung devices.
