Lights are only on the bottom, batteries didn't last long

I purchased this to use on our info table for PTA's upcoming fundraiser, a glow run. The markers worked fine, the image looked good, and then I turned it on. The lights are ONLY on the bottom, so the full sign doesn't glow. It needs lights all around, or at least some lights on the top to make it look more even.

We had it out on our info table for about an hour before the batteries died.

It still looks cool, and my son can't wait until I erase our fundraiser advertisement so he can draw on it. It's just not a replacement for the more expensive, professional signs. It's a kids' toy.

When I receive this product it appeared to have been previously used screen was all’s Smeary, scratched, and damaged not clean and new. The box appeared fine but was not sealed with a little round disc disc was broken already. I don’t know if it was a return and re-sold or what I gave it to my grandson as a gift and I do not want to take it away from him to return it but I was not at all pleased with its condition

This Crayola Light Board was a winner for my 8-year-old granddaughter's birthday! I purchased extra neon markers and a large spiral-bound coloring book so she could slip the pages inside. It was fun to see her creativity. It's made well and cleans easily.
