It probably would have been better to buy this in bulk, like a set of 10, but this single unit for the expediency of shipment was well worth the premium.

The contacts were easy to tin, though there was a lot of plastic that can be melted near them. Steady hands, a thin soldering iron tip, and a vice or a helping hands tool is a necessity for quality connections and efficiency.

Plenty of volume in the sleeve, so don't worry if you have a bit of excess cable. Be sure to use heat shrink tubing as the outside of the sleeve is metal and can potentially ground or short your signal if you're not careful.

Be sure to pair this product with some good quality cable!

I needed to make some custom cables to fit into a mixer that is in a rack drawer and due to the pinout of all right angle cables; I needed one that was the opposite; so that the cable would come out the back of the unit instead of the front.
I bought this so that I could spin the pins around and make it work how I needed.
I had to drill a small hole on the opposite side to accommodate the screw being on the opposite side of the body.
Worked great and I got exactly what I needed.

The quality of this is far below the quality of a professional connector. The plastic spacer that holds the pins melts when the wires are soldered to the pins. The pot metal is very cheap. Because my use of this is in a place that will rarely need to be disconnected, it is an adequate connector, but that's all -adequate. If this was used in a situation where it was connected and disconnected often, it wouldn't last long.

At this price, I almost expected the shell to be made out of plastic but it is metal (I'd guess plated cast zinc). The "cover" does not have a locking tab like more expensive right angle connectors I have used, but I don't see it as a problem. These are being used in a permanent installation, but even if they were going to be unplugged and plugged in all the time I don't think there would be a problem.
