I originally bought baby nail clippers for my LO. I then got my newborn home and realized they were big enough to take off his whole finger. I was petrified to use them on him. I got a pair of these when he was a couple of weeks old. They have been great for newborn paper thin nails. His little nails grow into the nail beds a little bit on the sides I can easily use them to gently lift the edge so I can trim it away. I find I have to do his nails every 2-3 days to keep them short enough. They have been well tested!
Now the cons. He is six months old. They are starting to not work as well. Sometimes his nail bends a little before cutting. I’m not sure if they are getting dull, or if the issue is that his nails are getting harder. Either way, I think we are going to have to move on from these.
Overall they are great for a newborn. I felt much more confident than with a clipper style. I just wouldn’t get them expecting a lot of longevity.
