After a few months of using this card, I was shooting video using my Canon EOS R camera. Suddenly the camera reported a card error. I was unable to format the card. I later tried formatting the card using Windows 10 and the card would not get recognized. I felt the card and it was hot to the touch. It seems there is some sort of hardware failure with the card? Despite repeated attempts, neither my Windows laptop nor my camera will recognize or reformat the card.
Sony customer support has been very slow to respond and seems to imply that the card can be fixed with their recovery software. I can't get any device to recognize the card. I have worked with technology long enough to know that there is a hardware failure with the card, but Sony will not acknowledge this. From now on I will be sticking with SanDisk.
I mostly shoot in 4K 60P, but I wanted to future proof with a card that can handle the 400Mbps C4K. I got four (256GB) cards for two of my GH5's. The card performs as expected. Recording times with 256GB = 1Hr 23 minutes of C4K (400Mbps), 3Hr 43min at 4k 60P (150Mbps) Just for fun I shot some RAW photos at 12 fps and it didn't even hicup at 100 photos. It is truly an amazing card for the price! Update: October 16, 2020. All 4 cards are still performing flawlessly, I haven't had any issues. Don't be on the fence looking for anything better, this is it.
Clocks at ~60MB/S. I only needed 90MB/S. Shooting RAW burst gets bottlenecked. Returning card. Why can't major companies just be honest with the speed rating???
