Claptrap here is supposed to be able to hold a controller or a device in his arms. However, straight out of the box, his left arm hangs too low. If I extend his middle "danger" area, he can still hold a controller, but it isn't stable. As far as holding a device, he can hold my phone or the Nintendo Switch only if I have them precariously balanced on the right side. If they are charging, they will not balance (which it is specifically advertised that you can). Should you be lucky and get one with both arms in the correct place, it will probably function as advertised.
Aesthetically, this thing is awesome. It's sturdy and looks great. This is why I decided to keep it anyway. Even if it's just being used as a Claptrap statue, it's pretty good.
Overall, I would recommend this product, but be wary. If buying in person, check that his arms are both in the correct places (even with each other in a line across the middle "danger" piece). If buying online, you may need to do a few returns before getting one that doesn't have messed up arms.

At first I was very excited to open it up and get claptrap set up on my table, but upon further inspecting of the box it made me thing its been opened before since the latches of the box were practically opened, so once I got it out of the box there were obvious signs that the arms were uneven and a little rubber bits were already graining off and the the right arm pushes a little off the main body. The main reason I got this was because I was a fan of borderlands, overall its a good gift but definitely dont expect the arms do be doing the carrying, I discovered a lil tray that pushes out so it carrys the controller itself instead of the arms, the tray doesn't extend to a large degree so the controller isnt in a snug roomy spot but more like pressed tightly against the model. It was disappointing to get with the condition of the arms but overall a cool gift, I added pictures to show the angles of the arm and the tray, I hope this helps anyone who had any questions about this product.
