Very pleased, but not at first

After reading reviews I was not sure what to expect. After the installation I noticed when I powered up the unit it flashed red and green then after a couple seconds stayed solid green. I then tested the unit and no improvement in my cell signal. I then re-read the instructions and did some research on line. I learned two very important things, first make sure you install the outside antenna as far way from the inside antenna as possible both horizontally and vertically. And the light should not blink when you power up the unit, it should go immediately green. The flashing means the two antennas are too close to each other. I moved the outside antenna to the rear of the coach and located the inside antenna near the front of the coach. Then retested and it worked very well! A 20 MB increase in speed both down and up. I hope this review helps if you are having issues, good luck!

I investigated this type of cell booster because of its optional installation on a Oscar RV. I’ve installed it in my campsite and have found that signal game is modest at best, certainly no better than 30 DB in spite of 50 DB claims. Also the installation package uses SMA vs F coax connectors. I had called Wilson electronics initially telling them that I wanted to interface with an existing coacts interface on my trailer so I didn’t have to poke a hole and also indicated that I wanted to use an AC interface versus DC. The tech-support at Wilson electronics was extremely uninformed/clueless, And seemed very confused about very simple questions. Since I’m now going to have to use a SMAto F connector adapter both on the inside and outside of my trailer, I am likely to incur additional signal loss and really question the utility of this. When I contacted Wilson electronics for third time, I was told that because I was in a weak signal area… On the order of -100 to -108DB, I could not expect the 50 DB gain. I have to ask the question, cause I guess I’m a little bit slow, what’s the point of advertising a 50 GB gain when it only works in good signal areas?

This got installed on my 19-ft Roadtrek class B RV today. As suggested, I did a soft install where I thought components would work. I mounted the antenna with one screw and ran the antenna cable through the window to the booster on the cupboard above the cooktop. Powered it up and took dBm readings before and after. By the numbers it increased the dBm input by 4 to 10 or so. The real test for me was opening my Amazon order page to see how fast it loaded. Without the booster, it didn't load more than the first five items and then dogged out. Turned on the booster, and it loaded everything as fast as I could scroll down. Good enough for me. I drilled holes and did a permanent install. I'll let you know how it goes is I ride through the boondocks. Cheers!
