Okay... Now i'm getting frustrated. This is the second new cable that has not worked. THIS cable did not even recognize my new 34" AOC Ultrawide 4K 144hz monitor. I plugged it into my 2018, 15" Macbook Pro, and my Macbook acted like it was trying to find an external display, then my AOC monitor said "no input" and went black. Would NOT even turn on.
The FIRST cable I tried earlier this week (another brand) turned on my AOC 34" display, but it only displayed it at 2K at 60hz.... what the heck. It ALSO claimed "8K at 60hz" and "4K at 144hz". It did NOT even come close to that. But that cable was better than this one... this one literally didn't work at all. So frustrated. I just want my new monitor to WORK. WTF.
Starting to realize there is a lot of false claims out there. Be careful. Im going to best buy right now to try an Insignia cable that claims 4K at 60hz. It's only Display port 1.2, but at this point, i'd be happy with that. 60HZ is better than nothing.
