Finally a tracker that works

Let me preface this by saying I was a loyal Fitbit fan. But after 6 Fitbits ( I have had the Bit, Charge(2), Charge HR, Alta and AltaHR) within 10 years I am done. The first thing that impressed me with this tracker was that it came partially charged and I still didn't have to charge it for two weeks. I have been using the Pulse for about 6 months and I only charge it about once every 3 weeks. The app that you use with the Pulse (Healthmate) is very easy to connect to. The one thing that kept frustrating me with the last Fitbit is that I constantly had to remove and add the tracker for the Bluetooth feature to work. Once I connected to the Bluetooth with the Pulse I have not had any problems. As soon as I open the app the tracker connects successfully and updates my information. The sleeping tracker seems to work very well and I am actually getting better sleep. I understand my patterns and try to get to bed earlier. When I workout I can generally track it. If it is not one of the pre-programmed options than I can do other and classify it later in the app. The GPS feature that tracks my route is nice. It was nice to see the route reflected and it was accurate. It was also nice to see the level of speed that I achieved during my walk. In my experience the only pedometer that is close to accurate is one that is on your hip, but for a wrist pedometer it's not bad. It seems to take a few steps to get it to start counting. So if you take 5 steps it may not record, but on the same token if you take 25 steps it may record 30 so it kind of balances out. The most important thing to me is reliability. At the 6 month mark 2 of my FitBits bands began to unravel. Just after the 1 year mark 4 of my FitBits started having syncing or charging issues. I know I have only had this tracker for about 6 months but it has been fun to use. The only other problem I have had is the the touch feature is not sensitive enough. I can use the button on the side to get any of the information that I want but if I tap on the watch it doesn't respond. In the full spectrum of things Withings has a convert. If you want a reasonably priced tracker that will track your steps, your sleep, and your workouts than the Pulse is an excellent choice.

Battery Life that Keeps You Fit

I bought this to improve track sleep pattern and to help get into better shape overall. This band has served me well, battery life keeps wowing me. I can't believe the endurance it has to keep going and going. I average 22 days of battery life per charge. The app is good and informative. The band definitely doesn't offer as much features as others in the market, there is no media controls and notifications option leave a lot to be desired. But that I had expected, so it didn't bother me as much, as the core things it advertises, it does well.

I tried a very large heavy tracker and basically hated it--too hot, too clunky, had to wear it too tight for a reading. The Withings is incredibly tiny--screen is 11/2 "x1/2" or 5/8", band is flexible silicone/plastic with a secure buckle clasp. There are 30 exercises to choose from, it tracks heart rate, steps, miles, calories burned, and monitors sleep. I really like the sleep monitor function--lots of good info. I have swum with it--no problem. Waterproof to abt. 3 ft. Does not track specific swimming strokes, however.

The free phone ap is where you see all the info; the watch screen has digital time, steps, heart rate, calories, & remaining battery charge. It was fairly easy to download the ap and to pair the phone & tracker--I did it on 1st attempt. Maker advertises 26 days battery life--I didn't believe it, but I've been wearing it constantly for nearly 3 weeks & I still have 20% battery left. I think I will get very close to the 26 days of charge. I think the battery lasts so long because the info is mostly on the phone ap. Phone ap is easy to use, & info can be edited, &you can add notes in several places. It will track calories consumed, but you have to enter the food you've eaten.

I only have 4 negatives: text is VERY small due to small screen--hard for us older folk. But edit function in phone ap saves the day--you can fix any errors you made. The screen is not bright enough to read easily in strong sunlight--the "always bright" function doesn't seem to keep it from dimming in daylight. The alarm vibrates against your skin--if I'm doing anything at all I don't feel it. And the light-up with a wrist turn doesn't work too well--I just use the button. This doesn't bother me, however. For me the positives far outweigh these few issues.

In a nutshell--lots of options & functionality in a small package, priced comparably with Fitbit, easy to use, comfortable to wear. Size is particularly suited to a woman, which the larger tracker I 1st tried was not.
