These were ordered for one specific purpose: For use on the steel frames and plastic bins of warehouse shelving in an unheated space. The stickers we have been using, mfrd by same company, had no sticking power and would fall off if touched or sometimes just fall off on their own.
These stickers have a LOT of sticking power: Very good adhesion to cold, painted, steel. They have been successfully used to replace every one of the tags in our warehouse.
Incidentally, on the same day these were employed somebody left their car in one of our parking spots so it was stickered using one of these with a message that only authorized vehicles could use that slot. The day was very cold, for us, and also very windy. The tag was waving in the breeze for hours with no apparent problems. It was stuck to the car when we left and the car was not there the following morning so, bravo.
The one awkward thing about these is their length. For some reason the designers must have got it in their head that since these tags stick thrice as well they need to be thrice as long. Yeah, maybe rethink that one Mr. Engineer. I just don't see many of us writing poetry or short stories and then sticking them out on surfaces where the sun don't shine. I just don't. One's instinct is to simply tear and discard the unwanted section but this stuff is tough and doesn't tear easily so what ends up happening is that only a small part of the sticker gets written on and the rest is left as a tail to flap around.
These things are likely going to be used just in the manner we have used them: We want a semi-permanent but easily changed identification tag that won't fall off as soon as our backs are turned.
The utility of these tags in cold, dry, windy conditions has been proven to us. Based on the feel of the 'paper' which actually feels plasticky, and the incident above, it is a safe bet that these also have superior water resistance.
Also, heat is a big killer of adhesive. A lot of times masking tape gets brittle and the adhesive fails when the stuff gets baked, which is why there is specially designed automotive tape for bodyshops. Again, this stuff looks and feels like it will stand up to heat very well. This review will definitely get an update when summer rolls around again.
This is possibly a Five Star product. As it stands right now, it gets four stars only because of the rather long page size. If the product turns out to be as good long term as it appears in the short term, rating gets bumped.
We had to use one of these a couple weeks ago to put a note on a neighbor's windshield after hitting their car's bumper and scratching it a bit and it stayed put just fine until they saw it and contacted us.
I was dubious about the water resistant claims, but they really are. These look and feel like a plasticy version of painter's tape. They take ink from Sharpies without issue. I have one of these in each of my regularly used purses, one in the car, and one in our emergency bag, all paired with a new sharpie. I love these a lot and will 100% be buying more when we use up the ones that we have.
These are amazing, and these are great for leaving notes that shouldn't get lost during emergencies... or just for taking passive aggressive post it leaving to the next level.
Additionally, the adhesive is equally grandiose. I've been hanging these pads all over the place just to challenge the stickiness. You can't peel off the pad's backing because it's made of some sort of non-peel material that essentially renders the last note of the pad useless, but you can peel off that last note and use the penultimate note's stickiness to stick the pad onto the fridge, a window, or basically any clean surface. I figured this wouldn't work in our RV because it's such a bumpy ride, but I was wrong.
These notes defy all sticky note preconceptions. Yes, the colors are kind of unremarkable by Post-it standards, but the notes themselves are as un-unremarkable as can be.
