I enjoyed this hidden history book very much. Florida and especially The Keys has always fascinated me. I love visiting. It is like going to a tropical (near) paradise without having to fly! This book contains a lot of history about the people and events that shaped the Keys and there were some very colorful characters involved over the years. If you are interested in this part of the world and it's history you will enjoy this.

A Quick review of the history and the efforts made by local residents to preserve the physical history of that area of Florida called the keys. Ms Albritton and Mr Wilkerson have done an admirable job of recording the stories of the early settlers and the endeavors of newer residents to tell their stories. We Americans sometimes seem all too quick to throw the baby out with bath water when the bath water is often times more interesting and just as valuable as the baby. Good work. Good read

“Hidden History of the Florida Keys” is a great book on the Florida Keys. I learned many things that I didn’t know about before reading the book. In particular, the treasure hunting and Key West historic preservation chapters were eye-opening and informative as well as the first two chapters that give a historical point of view of what life in Key West was like all those years ago. I recommend this book for your dose on Florida Keys history!

This is a well researched book relating to a few highlights involving some of the noteworthy people in the Florida Keys during The eighteen hundreds and nineteen hundreds years. It is easy to read and provides some interesting information.

A great read. Being born and raised in Miami I still can't get enough of the history of my beloved keys and this book has so many great stories it's hard to put down. A must have.
