I'm a huge Casio fan with several different models from Digi-Ana ABC ProTreks, GShock Steels etc so I was expecting something that just worked when I received the WSD-F20A.
Unfortunately it hasn't been a very welcome addition to my Casio collection. The watch is big, rugged and looks good for an outdoor watch. The thing I love most about it is the dual layer LCD screen which stays on 24/7 with minimal battery drain and is easy to see. That's pretty much the only great thing I found with this watch. The watch is extremely laggy and slow to respond to commands whether it's touch or button press. The Tool set (Compass,Alt,Baro) takes about 5-10 seconds to appear after the Tool button is pressed. Same slow response to get into applications or even longer to access the trekking feature. I finally just got tired of dealing with it after it took 15 seconds for an incoming call to show up on the watch screen. Battery life was decent for an OS Wear watch with 60 percent at the end of the day left however, with light use.
In short this watch needs a OS/UI update or faster chipset to make it faster and less cumbersome to use. Would love to have an OLED screen instead of LCD. Better charging solution as the magnetic cable is a bit finicky to connect and stay on the watch. It needs a speaker for alerts and ringtone! Slightly higher quality build would be nice. More dedicated buttons for funtions like the older Digi/Ana Casio. Please make an Afterglow for the Dual display without having to go Into the dedicated watch timepiece mode. Also the afterglow is horribly dim almost unusable when in time piec mode.
I'm quite disappointed with this Casio which will be going back to Amazon. Hopefully future versions will solve these shortcomings. For now I'm sticking to the trusty lower tech ABC watches.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH! I purchased this watch at the end of September, and it has already failed to function. Straight out of the box, the battery life was less than advertised. I was able to get through maybe a day and a half with limited functionality (bluetooth and GPS turned off), and in January, when the watch is barely three months out of the box (and coincidentally when Amazon's technical support will no longer help with the product), the charging functionality started having issues. The watch will only charge if the charger is held slightly askew from the charging face. Seeing as the two surfaces are magnetically attracted together, this means that you have to physically separate them the perfect amount every night during the charging process (because the battery will barely make it through one day, much less two), or you will wake up to a dead watch. This issue would have resulted in a two star review if Amazon or casio had stood behind the product and attempted to make it right, but that was not the case. Amazon support says to contact casio. Casio says that you have to go through Amazon, so unless you appreciate going through this cyclical nonsense while still being out the hefty $400 price tag with only a paper weight to show for it, stay away.
Very good so far. Battery s good for a couple days of average use. It was a slow start for the first couple hours due to updates and downloads. After it sinks up and Everything is working it gets very fast. Very responsive voice control. I'm happy with this watch and it's functions. It is very large but works well for me. Some things to note. There is no speaker on the watch. Watch is heavy. It is growing on me more and more. The Android operating system is open and has tons of apps. No heartrate moniter. Lots of extra fitness apps built in. Not to many extras and easy to not use built in stuff. You can customize the buttons and get apps to add features like double tap buttons for different apps. Easy to use and very useful. I really like the dual screen feature. The watch part works very well in dark or extremely bright it's easy to read.

Not pleased with it for a multitude of reasons. Poor quality and buggy compared to their other protrek models. I'm not fond of this type of watch anyway but was hoping to be able to use it while hunting and fishing etc. I am a watchmaker so smart watches are not my favorite anyhow. I own, and used to sell casio protrek and g-shock models which (while cheap) were made very well, this watch is not up to the standards I'm used to seeing from casio. I would still recommend their other protrek products if you are interested in low cost, durable, and functional watches.
The main issues with this watch is Poor battery life. Buggy operating system (like early Android devices) Screen hangs and does not respond accurately to touch. Constantly disconnects and reconnects to Bluetooth Not very durable Not very water resistant Not intuitive Charging port is awful
Pros.. Many features Accurate GPS and wonderful mapping Accurate compass, barometer, altimeter, etc Quick charge
