This is a really handy berry box, and works great for rinsing and preserving the berries with vinegar and water.
If you're not familiar with the vinegar and water trick ... first rinse your berries with fresh water (this box makes that easy), then fill the container with 1 part vinegar 4 parts water, and submerge the berries for 5 mins. or so. Don't rinse after that, just drain, and let the vinegar/water dry, you won't be able to taste it later. The vinegar kills all the mold, mildew, and fungus, that causes your berries to spoil, and makes them stay fresh in your refrigerators' vegetable crisper for way way longer than usual. Works for blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc., but not so well for strawberries.
Addendum: Just a quick note here, I have one of the round ones from a long time ago, and I bought these square ones because I thought they would stack and store better, and they do, but if you hand wash like I do, I find that the round ones are far easier to clean, as the square ones have lots of little nooks and crannies that are difficult to get your sponge into.

Great with a few easy adjustments...2016年8月24日 - 已在美国亚马逊上发表
Great with a few easy adjustments... I buy a lot of fruit for my daughter and I am picky about cleaning and storing my fruit. With that said I also hate wasting any fruit. I always soak my fruit in vingar water as soon as I buy it, this not only cleans fruit but also perseveres fruit if done right. For years I soak, rinse then strain and refrigerate. The key to preserving is getting and keeping moisture off fruit. Which means I normally occupy all my calendars/strainers in my fridge so moisture is able to drip off my fruit into a bowl I set my strainer into. These berry boxes are amazing because I can rinse, soak my fruit in them, then lift the fruit out to drain, rinse vingar off and then set the strainer box back into the bowl to continue to drain and keep my fruit dry in the fridge. Here is the few issues... The box does has small raised corners to hover the strainer so that it can strain... It doesn't hold it high enough to give it space to air out, plus if you doing fruit that can hold a lot of water that needs to drain the space with fill quickly then your fruit is sitting in water :-(. I fixed this smiplely by folding a paper towel and placing under strainer to raise it higher, bonus it will soak up liquid... If u do this don't cover the whole bottom because you need air to get around your fruit. Secondly, the lid snaps nice and tight which is great if your traveling but not if your fruit is just in your fridge. The lid will trap moisture and cause mold quickly. You need air venting around you fruit to keep it fresh. Granted I don't want mine fully uncovered either so I set the lid at a slant or just loosing lay foil on top so air can escape. Hopefully this is helpful and I will add picture so you can see what I have done. You can also see one of my small orange strainers that I normally use over top the red bowl to drain.

Was hoping for a better feel of material2017年7月16日 - 已在美国亚马逊上发表
Why in the world would a manufacturer place an adhesive label over the entire bottom of the strainer basket? All those little holes are now filled with glue and paper after soaking and soaking to get off. Adhesive labels make me crazy in general, but this was clearly not thought through. Quality of basket was not what I expected for the price. Was hoping for a better feel of material. Feels cheap, but functional.

I have a couple of these, and like that they're configurable (lid on, lid off but under the strainer, etc.). I also like that the lid is translucent, so you can see what inside. They've held up fine for a couple years of use. I use one color for berries, another for mini-carrots. We've had a couple drop-on-the-floor incidents and no breakage or cracks thus far.
