I bought this for my son after I got him the VR and motion controllers for Xmas. I bought it mainly for charging the controllers because I bought them used at GameStop and wasn't told I would need an extra cord. I put the motion controllers on the dock all night and the light is green, yet my son played with them for not even 5 min and they died. I'm no sure if anyone else is experiencing this or if I'm doing something wrong, but I'm highly frustrated.
When I bought this a month ago I ignored all the 1 star reviews saying this charging station broke in about a month. Well one month just hit and all I’m getting is red blinking lights for the last 24 hours. Also my PS4 controllers are randomly disconnecting every 3-5 minutes or so. So I’m hoping the charging station didn’t destroy my controllers with a voltage related problem.
With VR, you’ll now have more controllers to keep fully charged. I found this charging stand to fit my needs. It allows the VR headset to rest comfortable without any tension on it. There are charging indicators to let you know what is charging (blinking red) and when it’s fully charged (green). You’re able to charge two move controllers (regardless of generation) and two dual shocks. There are provided adapters (2) that plug into the micro USB port of the DualShocks that allow you to just drop them into the charging cradles instead of aligning a usb plug. The adapters also have a micro usb pass through so you can still charge and play and that same time if you need to. The power adapter I found interesting. It contains 2.1 A and 1.0 A ports. I use the 2.1 A to connect to the stand (powers through micro usb) and use the 1.0 slot to keep my AIM controller charged.
All in all, I think this is a great stand to keep everything charged and a PSVR headset “stored” or displayed nicely. It’s made of fair quality. The only assembly required is snapping in the headset stand to the charging base. As far as improvements, only thing I can think of would be providing some cable management solution for the headset.
