As an avid wine drinker I have used glasses of all different shapes, sizes, and quality. I was very existed when I ordered this glass but after using this glass over a dozen different times I have noted the following:
Pros:
I love the shape of this burgundy glass. Thats the whole reason why I bought it in the first place. It also feels great in the hand. Many people have stated that this glass is to fragile but I disagree. Its very thin, but still feels sturdy. Its probably my favorite glass to swirl.
Cons:
With a very elegant wine like pinot noir (or any other wine for that matter), you want a glass that you can enhance the nose of a wine. Something that can consecrate all of the aromas of that glass into your nose for you to enjoy. But for some reason this glass does not do a good job of this. I don't know the reason why, but this glass seems to weaken the nose to the point where you can hardly smell what you are tasting. I noticed this with over a dozen bottles of wines, and could see a tremendous difference when I transferred what I was drinking from this glass to any other wine glass that I own.
Conclusion:
DO NOT BUY THIS GLASS. Although I love the look and feel of this glass, it is a terrible vessel for tasting wine. A wine glasses sole purpose is to enhance your wine tasting experience. Otherwise we would all drink wine out of red solo cups. Due to this fact there is no reason to spend $50 (or what ever the current price is) on this glass when you could get the same experience out of any other container.
