Both the vajra and the bell are of extremely poor craftsmanship. It appears this was sand casted, in two different casts, so you have a general rough looking surface, combined with (at least on mine) misaligned spokes. To make things worse, where the seems of the cast are, which are very big by the way, they have been ground down very roughly and apparently quickly, with nothing but a grinding wheel. Worse yet, whatever metal it is made of seems very cheap. Even worse yet, the part of the bell that hits the bell wall for sound is made out of what seems to be iron, and is thus already rusted.
All this said, the sound of the bell is extremely meditative, and the vajra will work, as crappy as it looks (both pieces look almost nothing like the pictures). Plus, for what you're paying, for the set, I'm not all too regretful, because this set is very inexpensive, and one of the only vajra dorje sets that match, so I am still somewhat happy with my purchase... I mean, let's be honest, it will still work for my meditation, and work just as well.
