Pedal is a simple effect, adds bottom and high to your sound. For what I am using it for is perfect, as it gives my sound a fuller effect. Dry nob controls how much feed from the input. Pretty good pedal depending on what you're doing with it. Pedal construction is built like a tank.

I like it nitty and gritty… this pedal tickles my fancy. Tc electronic has a great YouTube video about the Nether if you want to hear it. One thing I would like to add about what this pedal can do is some distortions sound fuzzy when dialed certain ways but with more flexibility.

I bought the Nether to use on bass for a 1 octave down, and it works perfectly. Tracks great, and sounds good even on open E string. Supposedly this is a repackage of the Behringer clone of the Boss OC-2, but it does NOT have that distinctive square-wave synth tone of the OC-2. The Nether is more true-sounding in the 1-octave-down setting, more like a DOD Octoplus.

Seems really solidly made and sounds great. I considered a lot of analog octavers before opting for the Nether, and I'm glad I went for this rather than an OC-3 or MXR.

No background hiss. Massive tone suck when engaged. Does not really down tune. Seems like it only adds mud along with blurry bass and crushes your clarity and treble. Surprising because all the other TC Electronic pedals excel at what they emulate. I did not try it with a booster in front, just straight into the amp. If this is suppose to emulate a BOSS unit, then they are both deficient in effect. The Digitech Whammy still reins supreme for on the fly down tuning. (if you can afford it).
