Another thing important to mention is the size; they didn’t make it long enough. The design was exactly what I wanted, one bar to hang my small 17x24” bathmat (their picture showed 13” clearance and I only needed 12”) and hooks for the bath towels, but there is not enough space between the top bar and the towel hooks; the mat completely covers the hooks. The only thing you could hang on the bar that wouldn’t cover the hooks would be small hand towels or washcloths.
This is definitely for tall people. Some people did complain about the bar being too high but since I’m 5’7” and can easily reach the top of the door, I didn’t think that applied to me. It’s a different story when you’re actually trying to put something over a bar that high, you have to reach several inches higher than the bar to get something over it. My husband is 5’10” and he struggled a little too, so I would say this is appropriate for people taller than that.
The last picture shows how the bar is just welded onto the hooks instead of bolted in. Since this is an item that will most likely get a lot of use and a significant amount of weight from wet towels, that concerns me.
The unit itself is great; it just needs to be one or two inches wider, at least six inches longer, with the bar coming down lower at the top by a couple of inches so you can close the door and have an easier reach. Then it would be five stars.
But the bar up top is attached. Which sucks because I wanted to REMOVE IT and slide the bar through a tunneled tapestry I want to display.
Guess it still works as a door rack - and my tapestry could be SEWED crudely to the bar. Ah well.
