UPDATE*** These WERE "the best invention ever," until they changed the formula! I'm so disappointed! Ever since they changed the green pills to white it's not nearly effective. I used to only need to take one a day and now I need to take a couple of them before meals every time I eat, just like the other lactose pills available. Why did they do this?? GREED, I suppose. So that they can sell more of them. Sometimes these don't even work at all, which as we all know leads to a lot of inconvenience and embarrassment. Not to mention extreme discomfort. The only Advantage these have over Lactaid is that you don't need to chew them.

I've recently started taking "Dairy Care' and have had a lot more success with managing my lactose intolerance. You can find them online and sign up for auto delivery.

*Original review * The best invention ever. No more needing to eat 4 or 5 disgusting tasting chewable lactose pills at each meal. No more forgetting to bring lactose pills to dinner and suffering the consequences or having to go without foods you really want that contain dairy. Take 2 a day for the first week and you are good to go! Only ONE a day needed after that. You can sometimes skip a day if you forget and you will be fine! I am so happy this is available for us lactose intolerant people! It's a LIFE CHANGER!

The company that owns and sells Schiff "probiotic supplements" is named Reckitt Benckiser and based in Parsippany NJ. They will not stand behind this product and are intentionally attempting to sell it as a probiotic formula that is "100X better than a regular 50 billion CFU" probiotic formula. This product only contains one single enzyme (lactase) and on single strain of bacteria (Bacillus coagulans - GBI-30). There is only 500 viable cells in the single strain. It is NOT "100X better" than probiotics that contain 50 billion CFU, so don't be fooled. The ONLY thing this product will help with is lactose intolerance ... NOTHING ELSE. There are NO other enzymes or other strains of probiotics or inulin or fructooligosaccharides or prebiotics or other digestive supplements. This is simply a deceptive representation of a lactase enzyme product for people with lactose intolerance. Nothing that compares with the digestive support from a 50 billion CFU multi-strain probiotic / prebiotic / digestive enzyme formula dietary supplement.

This was the best lactose product on the market. It was much better when owned by Ganaden and when it was first taken over by Schiff. Sadly, now only one member of my family can use this product because Schiff decided to ruin it by adding gluten. Gluten is not needed and it makes no sense to add an ingredient known to cause gastrointestinal distress too many do a probiotic targeted at helping those with gastrointestinal distress. It was really a stupid marketing move. But if you don't have a problem with gluten than this is a wonderful product. You take one capsule a day and you can have dairy all day without any issues and without having to remember to pop a Lactaid at the time you ingest the dairy. I really wish they would take the gluten out and restore the product to its former glory and effectiveness.

This product works really well. The package is conveniently sized for purchase once every 3 months and is reasonably priced. The product is excellent. I've been using for more than 10 years and it has made my life much simpler and less embarassng. People who are not Lactose Intollerant frequently just don't understand than even "there's only a little bit" can mean embarassing and unpreditcable consequences. This product is easy to take along with other medicines or vitamins to protect you from most issues for 24 hours, not just as you're taking a bite of food!

Everyone who is lactose intolerant needs these. So easy to take one in the am and go about your day, there are some foods that will still not agree with me (looking at you soft serve) but more of those (minus soft serve) work out fine if I take to tablets instead of one. I still use as many lactose intolerant products as possible (milk, cottage cheese, cream cheese...) but if they aren’t available I know that I can still have them with out getting sick. Plus if we are out and I want some hard packed ice cream I know I can eat it with out a problem.
