Perhaps it's me, my body type, or my expectations but these pants did nothing for me. They arrived folded in a plastic bag (as do all NYDJ garments), but they were quite wrinkled, which I suppose is to be expected because they are a linen blend. Granted, that may have had a liiiittle something to do with how they they looked when I tried them on, but it sure didn't affect much.
These pants are extremely light weight as I expected. They are advertised as a "comfortable" pant, however in accordance with the description, I found them less tailored than I'd anticipated with the ankle being a bit wider on me than I thought it would be. Although I didn't expect there to be the usual NYDJ "lift/tuck technology", I also didn't expect these pants to simply "hang" there and give me the feel of wearing a burlap sack after tightening the drawstring! I also found the side pockets to be in the very worst place there is for any pants pocket, even MORE so for a loosely fitting freeform pant. This I thought very unusual for a company who always strives to provide the most flattering fit possible. (The pocket placement seemed to visually add an extra 5 pounds on each hip.)
So again, the issue here with me might be size-specific, but given the pocket-placement issue I can't even see myself going down a size. I could see where they might possibly work wonderfully on a size 0 or a size 2 model. For me, not so much. They are not well thought-out (IMHO), but they are well-sewn and the quality is there so for that I'm giving them 2 stars.
