For me, they are great for holding mouldng in place on the edge or boards. Not only for keeping the pieces in place while gluing, but also just as importantly, for laying out each piece. I cut a piece, clamp it on and measure and cut the next piece. Once everything is cut, they hold the pieces till the glue dries. Plus it holds the pieces on better than any other clamp I have.
They are also very stretchy, you can really push them in and the pads on the clamps hold on to the work piece. Actually I was surprised how much they could stretch.
One thing though, these large ones are a little large if you don't have big hands, they are some times a two hand operation, more so if you don't have a strong grip. Not saying they are not useful, they are because they open winder than the other sizes, just saying, be prepared for them being a little big. Also, if you tend to do smaller work, you might want to think about starting with the medium size. I have 2 medium sized ones and they are a perfect size for most of my work.
Still happy I bought them. I might not use them alot, but some times they are going to be very handy.
Only thing I can't say, is how they will stand up to being used. I will update this review if anything changes.
