Let me start about by staying that I'm a mom of 4 boys. I've used several different car seats over the last few years and the Fit2 has been, by far, my favorite one. Pros: - Installation is so easy. Normally I'll start installing car seats but have to ask my husband to come tighten the straps/latches because it's too hard to get it as tight as it should be. With the Fit2, I'm able to do it all myself. Removal is just as easy if you need to change the base to another vehicle. - Comfort is great! My in-laws got us a new infant seat for our newborn but something it and other car seats I've used have in common is that the babies head leans forward a tad, which makes me uncomfortable. Both our newborn and our 14 month old fit comfortably in the Fit2. Neither of them fuss or get out with sweat on their backs. - the button to remove the car seat from the base doesn't require as much pressure as others. My other infant seat is brand new and already needs pushed and jiggled a few times to unlatch it. This one is much easier to push and I haven't had any trouble with it getting stuck or jammed. - The button to move the handle back and forth is easy to do with only one hand. - My in-laws often take one of my children to spend one-on-one time with them. With an infant and toddler, they had needed two different car seats. With the Fit2, they can leave the base in their car and switch it over from newborn to toddler and just pull a strap to raise the shoulder straps. Transitioning it would only take a few seconds, versus switching out a car seat for the other grandchild. This has become very convenient for them now that they also have a Fit2 car seat in their vehicle. It also helps if one of them gets sick and needs picked up from daycare. They've always offered but never had the right seat in their vehicle. Now with the Fit2, they can pick up either child.
Cons: - Compared to my other infant seat, it's slightly heavier; however, with the ability to use it for 2 years instead of only 9 months, it's worth it.
In my opinion, the Fit2 hits every "want" on my list when looking for a car seat. I highly recommend the Fit2 to anyone looking for a longer term rear-facing infant and toddler car seat. Chicco provided this product to me in exchange for my honest opinion.
Love the large canopy that can be lowered to almost completely cover baby and the one hand adjustable handle. These details make a big difference. The quality of the seat is good. It’s a deep seat, at least in comparison to the keyfit. So getting baby out is always a little interesting. But he’s much more snug in the seat and I assume that would be safer in the event of an accident. This seat allows baby to rear face for 2 years and lets me pull it in and out of the car to click into my chicco strollers without waking baby. These features make the seat much better than the keyfit that only grows with baby to 9 months or 1 year and/or a convertible seat that doesn’t click in and out of the base and stroller. If you gave a finicky sleeper, the seat is for you.
The Fit2 is pretty similar to the KeyFit and KeyFit 30 seats only it offers a bit more when it comes to versatility and longevity of use. The Fit2 can accommodate a child up to 2 years old and 35lbs. The base for this seat has a lever that flips so you can have the seat more reclined for a younger baby who cannot yet crawl or walk, and a more upright mode for children 15lbs and up who can crawl and walk. The seat has a infant body positioner for babies who are 4-11lbs, and a removable padded infant head rest that can be used for a smaller infant or removed to allow for more head room for a toddler. Installation for this seat with the included base is very easy. Just like with the KeyFit bases, the base for the Fit2 is easy to install and takes very little effort to get it secured in the car. The base is very user friendly and has plenty of labels on the base so you know how to adjust it. The carrier easily latches into the base for effortless installation. I had expected that this seat might be a lot heavier than my KeyFit and Keyfit30 seats, but it seems pretty comparable weight wise. The harness adjustment for this seat is quite nice and requires no threading of the harness to adjust the height of the shoulder straps. Simply pull on the tab at the top of the headrest and raise or lower to the proper height for your little one. Very simple and user friendly. The seat does work with most Chicco strollers as a travel system, but it will not work in Cortina strollers, so if you have a Cortina stroller and were hoping to replace an older Keyfit seat with the Fit2, you'll need a different stroller if you want to use the carseat as a travel system. The seat does work with the Chicco Caddy stroller (not included with this seat despite what someone stated in a response to a question above) The fabric for this seat is pretty nice, but I do actually prefer the fabrics used in the KeyFit seats that we have better. This does seem like it would do a good job wicking moisture away from baby, but I don't like the texture of the fabric. The canopy for this seat is pretty nice. It's thick and has a layer of batting between the two layers of fabric which should nicely block light. The canopy is easy to remove and reattach. The headroom on this seat seems to be a bit more constrained than the head room on the Keyfit30. My ten month old freaked out when I put her in the Fit2. I suspect she wasn't thrilled with the close quarters of the head area with the wings on the headrest (without the padded infant insert). I was really hoping we'd be able to take the KeyFit 30 which we have in our second car out and replace it with the Fit2 and take advantage of the more upright toddler setting, but she is really not happy in this seat. Her dislike of the seat is my reason for the four star rating. As nice as the seat is if the person riding in it doesn't like it, I can't justify giving it five stars. I do think a baby who starts out riding in this seat will be more likely to not be bothered by the seat, but she's used to riding in seats where she's not so closed in around her head (Keyfit30 and Britax Roundabout). Overall, it's a good seat, it's comfortable to carry and weight-wise is pretty close to other good seats on the market. It's certainly worth considering if space is a premium in your car and you're looking for something that can be used for baby's first two years riding rear-facing in the car.

I bought this seat because I loved the keyfit30, but I have large babies, so for my second baby I decided on this infant seat. It is much bigger and heavier than a traditional infant seat, but it has lasted longer. He is almost four months and still fits comfortably. My first son was only 4 months before he had outgrown the keyfit. My friend's son who is two just sat in the seat last night and he could fit comfortable as well. The one thing I disliked was when my son was a newborn he seemed awkward in the seat.
