I combined mine with these three products pictured above and it worked flawlessly The Barringer pre amplifier had a ground lift which really quieted noise down to zero. The Roland cube performed quite nicely after everything was cleaned up Crystal clear. Zero Noise. Full range audio.

Photos are a bit misleading (looks like aluminum with cooling fins, but it's really constructed of plastic) but this does the job. I play in a bluegrass band that performs around a single mic with a couple of other mics for instrument fills. We keep this in our bag as a backup in case something goes wrong with our mixer at a gig, or if we're playing an event with weird logistics and are asked to set up in more than one location. We can just run a single mic into this unit for phantom power and then directly into a powered speaker.

Is this a substitute for a good mixer with EQ? Nope. But it can absolutely save your bacon in a pinch.

If you wanted a real audio interface your looking at around 100$. But if your budget is tight and you just need something to power your mic then for 15$ this isn't bad.

There's no gain knob so you'll have to practice how close you have to be to your mic. And check your sound levels to see how loud you have to be. If its quiet at first try getting RIGHT up to your mic, 1in is an entire world of difference from 2in. Also get a mic cover or a pop filter

This unit is a basic 48 Volt Phantom Power supply for use with condenser microphones. I purchased the USB model intentionally so as to have the greatest number of powering options. I have powered the unit via a computer USB port, a battery pack, and via a small iPhone charger. Having these options allows me easily to use the unit with an amplifier that has no phantom power, either in the studio or on stage with different power sources. As far as I can tell, there is no noise introduced into the audio signal. I haven't been able to determine whether the audio from the microphone actually is sent down the USB cable to the computer when it is plugged in as my computer is not set up for a USB microphone. Overall, I'm pleased with the unit as far as the quality and especially the price, but it is the USB power that makes it so versatile.
