Serious Safety Concern!

I really liked this bowl for my 10 month old learning to feed herself foods, the spoon is great! However, a very scary incident occurred when she pressed the bowl against her face, and it had suctioned to her face. She could not remove it! I was sitting right next to her, she was soundless, as a result, so I was unaware of the situation at first until my mother said look her eating from her bowl! I looked and could tell from her body movements she was panicked but soundless! I immediately reached and could not just pull it off , I had to curl my fingers around the rim against her cheek to break the seal! She started crying and screaming and was red in the face! Beware of the suction bowl!

Cute, but not miraculous

All in all, I like this. The color is lovely, and the spoon is a great size for self feeding, maybe more so than the chewtencils.

However, the suction base is a joke. My 13 month old hasn’t met a bowl or plate that he couldn’t detach and then dump on his head. This is less a problem with the specific item, and more a general problem with all suction based self feeding tools. They are probably more useful for older toddlers who are working really hard to use a spoon and need a more stable bowl to scoop against.

Just accept that there will be a mess. Consider putting down a washable, vinyl tablecloth under the highchair and removing baby’s clothing before self feeding time. I’ve adopted the strategy of handing him preloaded spoons and a bowl with very little food in it until he’s gotten over the urge to dump the bowl. After that, we move on to having more food in the bowl. We also usually use steamed veggies, dry cereal, or fruit in the bowl so it’s not terrible to clean.

Great bowl! But no marble

This is a great silicone suction bowl and is my consistent go-to at mealtime for our child amongst the various bowl options we have. The lid fits snug and is fantastic when we want to save leftovers for later. The suction onto the tray table or other surface is just right - enough it keeps the bowl on the table, and still slides off easily with the lift of the tab. The spoon size is perfect for little hands, and scoops a fitting portion for their mouths. The silicone feels durable; over roughly a month of use by our child, it still feels new. Nice soft feel for the hands and mouth.

So why not 5 stars? I would say I expected the “marble” colorway to have more patterned swirls based on the product image. I understand "marbled" may mean not two pieces are ever identical, but mine has barely any marbling of any color, see photo (darker “half” is just bad lighting). When I received it, I thought I accidentally may have ordered a grey solid bowl (I didn’t). Due to the packaging, I wasn't sure if I simply couldn't see it, so I opened it and neither outside nor inside of the bowl has any marbled colors. While not a deal breaker, I would’ve opted for another color had I known the marble pattens would be beyond-subtle like this.

Bad habits and zero suction

Really wanted to like this set, thoughtful spoon with both paddle and scoop sides plus a top for the bowl. Zero suction power, my 8mo pulled this off of her plastic tray without much effort. In fact she was just flicking it and exploring the bowl when it popped off. The spoon side of the utensil is large and awkward to the point that she has learned to flip it over in her mouth to get the scoop contents. Not a great way to teach a little one to use a spoon. Discontinuing use in order to retrain properly with a new spoon. Would return it if I still had the packaging. Very disappointed.

Great, high- quality set

I elected to purchase this for my 2 year old. My only regret was not purchasing it sooner. It comes with a spoon that the child can use on either end to learn how to feed them selves which is great for younger children just learning how to utilize utensils. It also came with a silicone lid for storage. You can pre-make your child’s meals and put it in the refrigerator with a silicone lid that fits tight and keeps bacteria out. it is microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe. It can also go in the oven up to 400 but I haven’t tried. My son constantly throws his plates and bowls when in his high chair, and the reason I purchased the specifics it was that the suction cup would disable him from lifting the bowl up and throwing it. The suction works great but I recommend you play around with it a couple times because if it’s not done in a specific way it won’t work as good as it can. overall a great high quality product that I highly recommend. This has made mealtime so much more easier and peaceful in my home.
