The case had a strong smell when I opened it, but I immediately aired it out for a few hours and it is much better. There is also no logo on the outside of the case, which is yet another plus for me. The overall build quality feels solid, and I can see myself using this case for a long time.
- No logo
I absolutely hate when companies put their logo on items, especially ones that I will be taking in public. Thankfully it's very discrete and very nice looking
It doesn't feel soft or very flexible. With enough force, you could definitely dent the case, but you'd have to either step on it or intentionally try to cause damage for it to do that.
- Lots of cartridge space
I love purchasing the physical cartridges rather than digital downloads, but this typically gives me trouble with travelling. However, this has enough space to fit my entire collection.
This is the cheapest case I could find for this style.
- Weird smell
This is very minor for me. It smells almost like smoke. I'm not sure if this is just my case or not. Regardless it's not too big of a deal for me. I'm gonna try and mask the smell though because I find it unsettling. You don't really smell it unless it's close to your face.
- No zipper for the upper compartment
Minor for me as well. I don't mind my accessories getting lose as long as the case is zipped up.
- Slightly difficult for me to get the Switch out
Since it is contained so well and strapped so nicely into the case, it's very snug and it's kinda difficult to get it out. I've had to fiddle with it to get it out. I hope that I can just find a better way to do it.
It feels durable enough (but probably not waterproof) and I usually just throw it in my backpack to bring with me to friends houses or work. I'm happy with the purchase so far.
Only real kind of bothersome thing is the elastic straps that hold the switch in place tend to get caught inbetween the Joy Con and the switch itself as you're trying to remove it. Otherwise it's all good. (The first photo in my group is the switch without the power brick inside, the last photo is with the adapter inside. It's not a huge difference in the photo but I tried to give a reference.)
The one thing that would have earned a perfect score and 5-star rating: The inner case’s mesh net doesn’t secure accessories adequately. It would have helped greatly if the extended to the top edge of the shell (rather than only half-way) and/or could be secured with a zipper. Because of the current design, you must be absolutely sure which side of the case holds the Switch, and, open the appropriately to ensure that any accessories do not fall out of the case, which happens far too easily.
