I really like this cuddly night time buddy. The projections have circles and stars and moons and the tunes are sweet. It's a cycle of four songs which last about 20 min. I love that there's a sleeve to fold over the projector part so not only is it softer but my son (8 months) loves to just look and look at it and this way he's not just starting into light bulbs. It's a soothing glowing pattern which changes colors too. It's recommended for babies over 1 yo but I use it with my 8 mo to smooth him during the nursing burping process. He likes to look at it and we sometimes lay on the floor or he sits on my lap. I also put it in the crib with him when I need a moment to get my toddler to sleep and it occupies him safely. An extra couple minutes with my toddler without my infant son crying is great. I wouldn't leave it in bed with him until age 1 ( SIDS) but it's still very useful. It's also been handy in the car being a nice distraction and soothing toy for my infant son. This toy does not get warm at all and this is attributed to the led lights used per manual. Some people complain that there are limited options on it. You can't choose just one song(plays them all), you can't adjust volume (but it's a nice volume not too loud) and you can't change the timer length. I agree these would be nice features to have but it doesn't change the fact that this is a great toy for baby to young child to smooth just as is. Oh the battery and switches are enclosed inside the toy with an extremely thick Velcro. I feel comfortable my sons can not get at them and surely not open the battery part
Update 6/12/17. Wow this little guy has totally worked magic getting my nearly one year old tonslepe lately. I started using it to put him to bed since he's been way more fussy bc of teething. Somehow it does the trick and I put him down awake with it and he nods off to it. I bought it might be too distracting or loud or play to long but it's perfect! I'm so happy it's working since my regular routine wasn't. Highly recommend especially if you are stuck in a nighttime rut!
