This is a well designed puzzle. I enjoyed the build. The piece numbers were hard to read, but I got there. As stated in other reviews, the box and assembly instruction are all in Japanese. I am including a translation below:

The back of the box reads:

Method for putting together the puzzle:

1) Begin assembly by starting with the base of the Pokeball. Proceed by making sure that the puzzle pieces and put together accurately. As you place the pieces with the bump side up and the flat side down, assembly should be easy.
2) Once the Pokeball is assembled, proceed to assembling Pikachu. During assembly, please proceed cautiously to not force any of the pieces together. Once the pieces are fit together, it may be that some of the pieces will be difficult to separate again. Once Pikachu is assembled, the project is done when he is placed on top of the Pokeball.

Here is a translation of the Assembly Instructions found on the sheet inside the box:

The number stamped on each piece is not related to the order of assembly. Assemble the pieces in the order listed in the table below. Caution: This puzzle can be assembled with some of the pieces being placed out of sequence. If you discover along the way that you have forgotten to include a piece, do not try to force that piece in. Rather, take the pieces apart that were assembled out of sequence to include the forgotten piece. Please do not force a piece into place as this could cause damage.

Not being able to read what looks like Japanese instructions, I was able to get this puzzle completed in 4 hours. 'Frustrating because of that, but still had fun, though! I would recommend getting it for someone as a gift for sure! It's FUNNY to try and figure out! You think that it is going to be easy until you open the box and see that the pieces are not labeled to know what order they go in!! Maybe it says it on the box/in the directions. I have NO idea. xD But it was fun to do! 'Kept me tuned into it. I loved pokemon as a kid, and Pikachu is one of my favorite pokemon (cliche`, I know. 'Sorry, but it's true), so this was a fun product to get! I recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a go! :)

My lady and I enjoy puzzles. This 3D puzzle was a great challenge for her and she's a great sport to pause and figure things out and it's fun seeing how some pieces have to fit underneath and through other pieces and you're left scratching your head wondering how that happens. Good stuff!

I am not a great spatial thinker so I originally purchased and owl puzzle and spent a good hour trying to get 3 pieces together. I walk away and come back 15 minutes later and he has assembled the entire thing. Ever since it's been a passion hobby so every so often I purchase one of these for him to put together. He loves them. I would say some pose a greater challenge than others and that depends on your personal skill level as well. It's construction seamlessly fits together so don't worry about them "not quite fitting" and the completed images are adorable and well constructed.

Purchased as a birthday gift. Box is crushed. It is a flimsy cardboard box and was packed in a thin plastic envelope. Pieces inside look ok. Will find out when the birthday recipient opens it.
