De Cecco gently grinds the heart of each grain, mixes it with cold spring water, then kneads the dough slowly. This results in pasta with the exceptional de Cecco aroma, flavor, and consistency. Pasta easily cooks to perfection, has a great firm texture, and a delicious “fresh” pasta taste. It has a rougher surface, which helps the sauce stick to it. Since 1886 we have liked our pasta to be bronze drawn and slowly dried because we like it to fall into the plate full of taste, rough and always "al dente". Even though our taste has not changed, as we feel the same love for tradition, we have continued to improve our production technologies. Make de Cecco pasta the secret ingredient for your most amazing dishes.Buon Appetito! Shells, which originate from the Campania region, are now very popular all over Italy. The name comes from the shape which resembles a seashell and is one of the most popular pasta shapes because it can capture any kind of sauce. This pasta is especially good in oven-baked recipes, with fish or meat sauces, as well as being excellent when accompanied by light tomato sauces, with ricotta or pesto alla genovese. Available in 1 lb pack.

IMHO, the 'commercial' types of pasta (ie: the stuff you find in all the big grocery stores) is all sort of 'blah', acting only as a filler and a sop for the sauce you use. DeCecco ADDS to the flavor and the meal.
Not sure what more I can say. I've been using DeCecco for almost 7 years now, and still love it the best.
Can’t always find it in grocery stores so I get it online.
