I don't read too many non-fiction books but this one struck me as interesting. Boy am I ever glad I did! It was very well written and I felt like I was "traveling" with her! I can say I won't be going to China or Mongolia any time soon, but glad she took me there! I was also very interested to find her website and see the pictures of the trip.---Amazon.com
This true accounting of how the Watkin's family started out on a one year backpacking adventure together (that lasted a lot longer) is both compelling and endlessly romantic. Savannah is a wonderful story teller, holds nothing back, and begrudges us none of the personal little details (and secret intimations) us readers love most. More than a travel journal, this narrative gives a truthful and rich accounting of numerous unique and endearing personalities, places, realizations, and an exploration of the world and life that leaves me yearning to pack my bag and leave everything behind as well. ---Amazon.com
