These work great! Completely eliminates the friction that causes blisters. When you use a bit of chamois for a shoe that rubs, it will make it less abrasive, but you can still feel it. My first time using one of these, I couldn't feel that the problem shoe strap was even still there anymore!
It basically IS a blister that you apply so your skin doesn't need to make one. Also works well to protect a sore or sensitive spot, like a healing scar, from irritation.
