Locks to motorcycle brake disk. Restricts movement of the motorcycle. Sounds a loud alarm. Comes with a carrying case. I have used it for 6 months and the battery is still working. Happy with the product!

The product works pretty much as described, so that's good. The problem is that it begins the arming process as soon as the brake rotor pushes up the ball bearing, and then it only gives you TWO seconds to finish closing the shackle, settling the lock into place, and removing the key. Need 2.1 seconds? Too bad, here comes the ear-splitting alarm. The result is that (literally) half the time I try to place the lock I end up actually setting it off, having to put the key back in, disarm it, then try to re-lock it again faster this time. Would a five second time frame have been so awful to program? Is somebody going to steal my motorcycle in the extra three seconds? Of course, you don't know this until the device is out of the box, so you can't return. I'll try to make it work, but if I'd known this I would have purchased another lock.

After getting an Abus heavy-duty chain cut through overnight, we added this to our small electric moped kept outside. While the moped does have disc brakes, the design is such that it won't fit through the holes in the disc and hence must go on the front wheel. So the pin size and gap size on the device have to be double checked against your vehicle's brakes/wheels/space around the discs. However, for us it works effectively there, too, and in combination with an even heavier/hardened chain it's already deterred someone who came back a few nights later to try again.

The device itself is a testy little punk, exactly as it should be. If someone brushes against your vehicle while getting their bike out of a rack it's probably not going off; your neighbors won't hate you. But anything more than that and it gets properly cranky. Definitely have to put it on last and take it off first, being quick with your key.

Is it bombproof? I don't know; someone somewhere has probably figured out how to jack anything. But it makes sense for our apartment living, as the noise matters and it also keeps someone from rolling off with the moped if they manage to get through the chain or rack.

Overall, this lock has some absolutely fantastic construction. Heavy, and solid, yet still small enough to fit underneath my passenger seat on my 2016 FZ-07. Abus is rather known for their high quality padlocks, and their disc locks are no exception to that matter as well! Though, there are some design decisions on this lock that led me to subtract one star.

The lock itself can be really finicky to get on your bike since it is a bit on the large side, and to engage the lock. You have to leave the key inserted. Once you have the lock closed, you have five seconds to remove your key before the dang thing goes off. It's also rather important that you heed the warning in the instructions that you make sure the sensor ball isn't resting on one of the vent holes on your disc, or it will go off on it's own.

Even with the minor quibbles I've had, I still don't regret my purchase. Plus, the flashing red light that shows it's armed, I'd imagine would be a fairly decent deterrent! So, when you do decide to get this lock, just keep in mind that it's rather large, and won't fit -all- motorcycles. As I use this lock more, I'll be updating the review in about a months time.
