This is exactly what I needed!! Having this cute little lamp hanging on my heardboard allows me to be able to read in bed, surf the net on my laptop that has no backlight lol and whats even better is I don't have to get out of bed to turn the light off. It gives me just the right amount of light needed and burgundy is my favorite color. It fits right in with my bedroom. My daughter now wants one for her room.

Charming, Stylish, and Just Right for Late-Night Reading in Bed

I actually had to return this product, but only because my headboard is too wide. Some users have opted to solve this problem by bending out the hooks and securing them down to the headboard with cable brackets, but I opted for a different solution. However, if I had a 2" or less headboard width, I would have gladly kept this lamp. It provides a comforting, warm light at the perfect height and angle for those of us who are night owl readers, and it's so stylish -- rather charming, actually -- I hated having to return it.

The alternative would have been to ruin the charm of the product by making a "klugey" installation, and this lamp is just too perfect just as it is. So be sure to measure the width of your headboard before ordering. This lamp accommodates a maximum width of 2", which is just right for the vast majority of headboards. If your headboard is wider, and you don't mind fussing a bit by bending the hooks and securing them with brackets, then check out the other reviewers of this product, many of whom explain exactly how they did it, an it's quite simple.

This lamp is a great value for the price, and real winner in the design department. Give it a try!

My mom had one of these headboard lamps and I thought it was so dorky. But when I was searching for a light to read by in bed, that's exactly what I looked for! It works great. Our headboard is pretty high, so a lower one might make the light too low for reading. Because the shade is so thick, not much light shines through it - the light shines down. But it works perfect for me. The color isn't red. It's more of a maroon. And it uses a smaller bulb. But I'm very happy with it. We will see how long it lasts, but so far so good.

I love this over the headboard lamp. I was looking for some type of light to snap to the headboard so I could read in bed. I'd seen these lamp shades in white and cream and most of them would only fit up to 1.5 inch headboards. But this, the Miles Kimball, would fit 2.5 inch headboards which is almost exactly what mine is. So that was the first plus, in addition, it came in burgundy instead of the standard cream or white. This fit the décor of my room perfectly. Also you could use up to a 60 watt bulb, and the price was reasonable. It looks so neat and tasteful, it fits the traditional décor of my room so perfectly that I leave it up all the time. It's of a sturdy quality and the metal part that hangs over the headboard is coated and also had a plastic cover to protect wood surfaces. It was an excellent purchase!

Very happy with the appearance and it's utility. While the specifications indicate a maximum of a 40 W bulb, if you use an LED bulb you can get 100 W performance with very few watts. You can get into bed and read and when you tire simply reach above your head without turning and find the chain to pull. No leaning over in reaching up to turn off a bedside light
